Hi everybody - finally found this blog! And have some news to share....I'm a grandma. I was there for the 37-hour labor and his birth. I got to watch my daughter Katie do the hardest thing she's ever done in her life (and she's done some very hard things!) and be super-empowered by rising to the occasion, beyond what she ever thought she could do. It was also a great opportunity to continue building the relationship with my son-in-law that I want to have, which has been difficult since they live in North Carolina and we don't see them that often. A friend of mine says getting to be a grandma is like getting a promotion at work - according to her I now have a lofty new position of influence and power! I guess that's true - my own grandma was a very important person to me.
